The Panora Chamber of Commerce awarded a “key to the city” to a new Chamber member as per their tradition Friday.

This week’s recipient was Donovan Construction, LLC, which recently opened a new office at 202 East Main Street. Several Chamber members were present to congratulate Owner Billy Donovan and his wife Emily on purchasing and renovating the building for their business. Donovan says he’s had his own business for six years, prior to that he worked for several years for Priestley Construction in Guthrie Center. Donovan says he’s glad to give back to the community by joining the Chamber and with the new business front he conveys that he’s not going anywhere, “I’ve always enjoyed tinkering with woodwork. It wasn’t something I was planning on doing, I graduated from school and like I said earlier, Priestley Construction offered to give me a job before I went to college I jumped into that and it’s nice to do something you like because if you don’t like what you do it can be a long road.”

If you live in the Guthrie County area and are interested in having Donovan Construction handle a project, you can contact Donovan at 641-757-0661, or visit the contractor’s Facebook page.
