
Thursday, October 24th
3:45am: An officer responded to an Alarm Activation at 105 West Harrison Street. The business was found to be secure.
10:58am: Charlie Paniagua reported feeling she was being harassed at 406 West Head Street by a known male. The officer found no evidence to corroborate her feelings.
12:48pm: An officer warned construction workers in the 500 Block of East Clark Street for blocking area mailboxes with trailers.
1:00pm: An officer assisted the GC Ambulance with a Medical Call in the 1000 Block of West Adams Street.
6:10pm: Billy Griffin reported the Theft of a barbeque grill from 1216 Westwood Drive. The grill was returned a short time later.
8:44pm: Steve Coil reported a stray dog near Adams and Maple Streets.
Friday, October 25th
7:34am: hrs, A caller advised of a stray dog near Grimmell and Westwood. The animal was captured and taken to the Animal Holding Facility.
8:31am: Troy Binkley requested an officer to advise a male subject he was not welcome at the laundromat at 301 West Reed Street. The male had apparently been staying overnights at the business. The officers have been unable to locate the reported male as of yet.
9:47am: Kathy Shriver reported a vehicle parked for several days in the 800 Block of South Maple Street. The officer is working to contact the registered owner about the issue.
9:34am: An officer arrested a female after a court hearing at 114 North Chestnut Street. Beth Anne Laurent, 49 of Ames was arrested for the outstanding Greene County Arrest Warrant for, “Theft 2 nd Degree.”
12:06pm: A Fed Ex driver advised of the smell of natural gas near 207 South Chestnut Street. The officer did not locate the smell, but advised Alliant Energy of the complaint.
1:10pm: Susan Ward requested a Welfare Check on a female in the 700 Block of North Cedar Street, after not reaching her for several days by phone. The officer made contact with the female and learned she was fine. He phone had been shut off several days prior.
12:40pm: Lila Mart reported the Theft of $189.00 cash from 1000 West Adams Street, #41. The officer is investigating.
1:43pm: An officer spoke to construction workers in the 500 Block of East Clark Street about vehicles parked facing the wrong direction, creating a sight hazard from the intersection of North Cedar and Clark Streets. The vehicle was moved.
5:31pm: Dustin Henson reported two pit bull dogs fighting each other at 1003 South Elm Street. The officer made contact with the animals and their owner and learned they were playing, not fighting with each other.
5:52pm: Bruce Binkley spoke with an officer concerning a Civil Issue occurring at 306 West Reed Street.
8:18pm: Tonya Sims reported two stray dogs in the 1000 Block of West Lincoln Way Street. The officer caught the animals and placed them in the Animal Holding Facility.
Saturday, October 26th
2:01am: An officer assisted a motorist at 220th Street and Grimmell Road.
4:33am: Julie Okarma advised an officer she had provided her bank and other personal information to a subject during a phone call. The officer advised her to contact the bank and close her account.
9:28am: An officer assisted the GC Ambulance with a Medical Call in the 800 Block of West Adams Street.
12:14pm: Ritchie Burkhardt reported Hispanic construction workers had said offensive things to him in the 500 Block of North Olive Street. Burkhardt does not speak Spanish and assumed they were cursing at him.
3:41pm: Officers were requested at 809 West South Street for a domestic issue. The officer spoke to all parties involved and a male advised he would leave for a while to allow things to cool off.
4:42pm: An officer was requested back at 809 West South Street for a Civil Property Issue.
8:09pm: Fareway reported an Intoxicated Driver leaving 1207 North Elm Street. The officer located the vehicle and followed it south on Elm Street. After the vehicle left its lane numerous times, the officer performed a Traffic Stop in the 1100 Block of South Elm Street. The officer’s investigation led to the arrest of Marlene Eleanor Anderson, 50 of Ralston for, “OWI 1 st Offense – Serious, Fail to Prove Security Against Liability – Simple, Driving While Suspended – Simple, and Improper Use of Lane – Simple.”
9:56pm: Officers arrested William Dean Richardson, 63 of Jefferson at Harrison and Walnut Streets on outstanding Greene County Arrest Warrants. The warrants were for, “2 Counts Possession of Controlled Substance/Marijuana 3rd or Subsequent – Aggravated and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Simple.”
10:28pm: A caller advised of Loud Music coming from the Greene County Fair Grounds. The officer responded, but did not find the music loud enough to be a nuisance.
1:41am: A Traffic Stop at 220 th Street and Doreen Wilbur Drive resulted in Caleb Klatt being cited for, “Excessive Speed.”
Sunday, October 27th
10:53am: A Traffic Stop at Central and Cedar Streets resulted in Patsy Rudolf of Grand Junction being cited for, “Excessive Speed.”
12:10pm: A caller advised of a stray dog near 805 West Lincoln Way Street. The officer returned the animal to its owner with a verbal warning.
8:26pm: A caller advised of a vehicle with bright flashers parked on South Pinet Place. The officer did not locate the vehicle in question in the area.
9:25pm: Michael Klauer requested assistance in the 500 Block of West South Street for a female refusing to turn over a handgun. Officers responded and made contact with the female, who provided them with the firearm.
11:27pm: Jennifer Ashby spoke with an officer about not hearing from a family member for several weeks. This was occurring in Des Moines and she was advised to call authorities there.
