Don’t forget, this Sunday is when Daylight Saving Time comes to an end for the year, so turn your clocks back and enjoy that extra hour of sleep.

Along with that, though, Perry Fire Chief Chris Hinds says the return to Central Standard Time is the ideal opportunity to ensure your emergency alert devices are functioning properly. “Of course, it’s always a good thing with the changing of the clocks – when we ‘spring ahead’ in the spring and when we ‘fall back’ in the fall – change the batteries in your smoke detectors and your CO (carbon monoxide) detectors. So keep that in mind and be sure and change your batteries when you change your clocks on the third of November.”

Daylight Saving Time officially ends at 2 a.m. this Sunday, and will then resume on Sunday, March 8, 2020.
