A Panora woman was recently sentenced in Greene County District Court for an OWI incident.

According to court documents, 48-year-old Patricia Lynn Monthei pled guilty to a Class D Felony for her third or subsequent offense for OWI. She had all but 30 days of a five-year prison sentence suspended. She will then be placed on probation for one-year with the Greene County Sheriff’s office and Boone County Probation.

The charge stemmed from an incident on June 16th. A Jefferson Police Officer made a traffic stop in the 800 block of South Elm Street for a vehicle having trouble staying in its lane. The officer noticed the smell of alcohol coming from the vehicle and Monthei also failed a field sobriety test. She gave consent to a breathalyzer test, which resulted in .149-percent concentrated blood alcohol level.

Monthei was also ordered to undergo a substance abuse evaluation, complete a drinking driver’s course and will have her driver’s license revoked for six years. She was ordered to pay over $4,000 in fines, surcharges, court costs, attorney and jail fees.
