Any Greene County 4th-12th graders are invited to an orientation event with Greene County 4-H.

The 4-H New Member Night is this Friday and the event will start with an informational meeting at the Greene County Extension Office in Jefferson from 6-6:30pm. Then everyone will head to Spare Time Lanes in Jefferson for free pizza and bowling. Greene County Extension 4-H and Youth Coordinator Kayla Willms says 4-H caters to lots of youth, not just those that show livestock.

“I have a lot of kids that don’t show any livestock at all, and they do the sewing, and the food, and different activities. You don’t have to show livestock to be a part of 4-H program. But it’s a fun organization that you do a lot in your 4-H club meetings. If you’ve got an interest in pretty much whatever, we’ll find an area for you and a club that fits your needs.”

To reserve a spot for the New Member Night, contact Willms at the Extension Office at 515-386-2138 or via email at khyett@iastate.edu by Wednesday.
