The Jefferson City Council met Tuesday night in regular session.

The Council approved a resolution authorizing Alliant Energy to install a light pole at the southwest corner of East Perry and North Cedar streets for the recycling location at $21 per month for the electricity. Additionally, the Council approved supplemental easements in the Greene County Development Corporation west business park, along with a plat of survey to combine partials of two lots for a total of 1.54 acres for future development of Heartland Bank. 

The Council approved several rebate payments from development agreements. The agreements include $43,000 with Lincoln Ridge Estates, $101,200 with Jefferson Hotel Group, Michael and Miranda Wahl for $43,000 and $17,500 with Jefferson Veterinary Clinic. 

During reports, City Engineer Jim Leiding said the contractor, Leroy and Sons, finished most of the first phase of the road relocation project for the runway extension for the Jefferson Municipal Airport. Council member Harry Ahrenholtz reported on the Greene County Early Learning Center project. He said their Board mentioned it would cost $1.7 million to bring the current facility up to code without doing any renovations, once the Greene County School District vacates the building next year. He also said the cost to build a new facility adjacent to the current building was $2.9 million. The new facility would have a capacity of 145 children, compared to the current enrollment of 87.
