UPDATE: The AC/GC double header scheduled for tonight at Woodward Granger has been postponed. The games will be made up on January 28th.
Both AC/GC basketball teams will have their hands full tonight.
The Chargers will make the trip to face off against WCAC foe Woodward-Granger for a double header. The girls will take the court first in a matchup of two of the top four teams in the conference. Last season AC/GC came close to bringing down the Hawks but fell just short in each of the two matchups. In the first game in Guthrie Center last season, the two teams exchanged blows all night before Woodward-Granger was able to escape with a 32-30 victory. AC/GC also fell on the road later on in the season 46-36. AC/GC comes into the night with a 6-3 record and is currently sitting in fourth place in the WCAC standings. The Hawks are coming in with an eight-game winning streak and a 9-1 record, tied with Des Moines Christian for the top spot in the conference.
The AC/GC boys are looking to avenge a pair of lopsided losses to the Hawks from last year. In their two games, AC/GC lost 68-48 and 72-32 to this team a season ago. The Chargers have found their rhythm recently winning two of their last three games. The Hawks are right near the top of the conference standings with an 8-1 record.
