Several Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center, Panorama, and West Central Valley students are heading to Waukee High School this Saturday for the Iowa High School Speech Association’s State Large Group Contest.
The ACGC students, coached by Kelsey Moran, Colin Shawgo, Staci Penton, and Zoie Shook, have nine groups performing in choral reading, ensemble acting, mime, improv, musical theatre, one act, and radio news. The Panorama students coached by Deb Arganbright, Krista Gafkjen, and Chris Helm have eight groups competing in readers’ theatre, ensemble acting, musical theatre, improv, and choral reading. The West Central Valley students coached by Nancy Bauch are competing in three improv events.
There is a suggested $3 donation for spectators attending the contest. Results on who is nominated for the All-State Speech Festival will be released Monday. For a list of all Guthrie County area students performing at the state contest, visit this story at raccoonvalleyradio.com.
