“Hope Grows Here” is the theme for this year’s Relay for Life from the American Cancer Society, and though typically nothing literally grows in February, one Guthrie County Relay for Life team is celebrating the theme with a fundraiser.

The Guthrie County State Bank team is kicking off the fundraising season and spring with a daffodil and hyacinth fundraiser. A bunch of daffodils is $10, and potted mini-daffodils and mini-hyacinths are $15 each. Orders can be placed at the Panora or Guthrie Center bank locations from now through this Friday, and the flowers will then be delivered to the banks the week of March 9th. February is National Cancer Prevention Month, and the team encourages the public to help in the fight against cancer, as money raised through Relay for Life goes towards life-saving cancer research.
