ADM’s Kaden Sutton capped off a phenomenal senior season with a gold medal at the state championship tournament over the weekend.

The senior finished in second place last year after falling to Woodward-Granger’s Cody Fisher, who won his second state championship Saturday. Sutton came into the weekend with just one loss and earned the top seed in the 285 pound weight class. Sutton found success early on winning his first two matches by fall in the first period. The senior had to earn his way to the championship match earning a 4-3 win over Van meter/Earlham’s Darren Sesker in overtime. Sutton pulled out a 4-2 victory in the championship match to earn his first gold medal.
