A Bayard man faces several felony charges after an arrest warrant was executed Sunday.

According to the Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office, at about 4:20 p.m. deputies arrested 35-year-old William Ray Bonar at his residence located in the 100 block of 3rd Street on outstanding arrest warrants for probation violation; possession of a controlled substance third offense, a class D felony; and possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor.

A search warrant was later executed at his residence, which resulted in additional charges with more pending. Bonar has also been charged with possession of methamphetamine third offense, felon in possession of a firearm, and domestic abuse offender in possession of a firearm and ammunition, all class D felonies; two counts of unlawful possession of a prescription drug, a serious misdemeanor; and possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor.

The search warrant executed on Bonar’s residence is related to a series of thefts and burglaries that allegedly occurred during this past January and February at Sparky’s One Stop in Bayard. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
