Greene County’s Ram face Glenwood’s Rams in Glenwood tonight at 6:30 p.m. in the opening round of Class 3A Substate 8 boys’ basketball. The winner advances to the second round on Feb. 27 while the losing team will have its season come to an end.

Glenwood is 16-5 and a member of the Hawkeye 10 Conference where they placed second. Greene County is 5-16 and was seventh among eight Heart of Iowa Activities Conference teams.

The home team averages 66 points per game and has three players averaging 12 or more points. Junior Ryan Blum is at 19.8 per game with senior Zach Carr at 14.4 and senior John Palmer at 12.6.

Greene County averages 52.7 points per contest and senior Carter Morton at 17.1 points per game is the only player averaging in double figures.
