In light of the spread of novel coronavirus 2019 to Dallas County, officials have elected to prohibit public access to all County offices.

Included are each of the departments housed in the courthouse, including the Treasurer’s tax and motor vehicle departments, the Recorder’s Office, and all court services. The Auditor’s Office in Adel will also be closed indefinitely, though there will be a drop box outside the building for any candidate filings, budgets, and other mail. The Dallas County Jail and the Sheriff’s Office will be closed to visitors until further notice. Additionally, the public is prohibited from entering the Assessor’s Office, Secondary Roads Department, and General Assistance Office in Adel, as well as the Human Services Campus north of the City.

Finally, all Dallas County Conservation buildings are closed to the public, including Forest Park Museum in Perry, and all upcoming programs have been cancelled. However, the outdoor areas such as Kuehn and Voas are still open to the public. County officials emphasize that staff will still be present at each location, so people can call if they need assistance. Most functions can also be done online, so they encourage people to visit their website to take care of any business. Click the link below to access the site.
