Greene County High School has several opportunities for students to get involved with clubs or organizations, and one of these has about 70 members.

The Interact Club is a group of students that are willing to get involved in the communities through community service projects or other activities. Some of the programs Interact typically helps with are Halloween festivities at the Greene County Community Center, the Jefferson Rotary Auction, Daddy-Daughter Dance and others. Co-President Ellie Madson talks about why they offer lots of ways for students to participate.

“We like to have different activities because we always like to have everyone be involved, and there’s many kids that they are involved in every single activity. But we have that variety just so if someone has a conflict here, they definitely can come back and do something else at a later date.”

Co-President Kassie Lamoureux talks about the skills students gain from this organization.

“You definitely acquire a sense of volunteerism because you’re always going out and helping other people. And you also learn skills like communication when you’re in an officer position, and leadership, and all those things that are really crucial when you get out into the real world.”

Interact Club is a high school-sponsored organization.
