Iowans who have not filed their income taxes yet have more time due to so.

The Iowa Department of Revenue has extended the income tax filing deadline for state income taxes to July 31st. The extension is due to the outbreak of the 2019 novel coronavirus. State tax forms that qualify for the extension include the 1040 individual income tax return, along with 1040C, 1041, 1120, 1120F, 1065, 1120S and the credit union moneys and credits tax confidential report. The extension is for all Iowans and others conducting business in Iowa.

Additionally, there will not be any late-filing or underpayment penalties for those who comply with the extended filing and payment deadlines. State income tax returns are being processed at a 30-day mark.

The federal income tax filing deadline has also been extended to July 15th.
