It’s National Teacher Appreciation Week, and the Adel-DeSoto-Minburn School District has a whole week of activities planned.

However, because school isn’t in session the rest of the year, the administration will be hosting virtual celebrations with the community invited to participate. Each morning, the District will post a different teacher appreciation activity and theme on their social media. They then ask parents and students to participate by commenting on the post with photos and messages that fit the theme. The themes include: “We Love Our Teachers” on Monday; “ADM School Spirit” Tuesday; “Share a Kind Word” Wednesday; and “We Love our ADM Support Staff” on Thursday.

The week will wrap up with the Tiger Pride Drive on Friday, with the participants encouraged to deck out their vehicles with messages of support for the teachers as they “cruise the loop” from 8:30-9:05 p.m. Superintendent Greg Dufoe is excited for the virtual celebration, emphasizing that the faculty deserves the recognition. “I can’t say enough about our teachers. It’s Teacher Appreciation Week, and that’s significant for me as I see them doing things that we couldn’t have imagined doing five or six weeks ago. And they’re just working so hard to serve their kids and it’s just impressive!”
