Last Friday night, the 10th-12th grade students at Dallas Center-Grimes High School spent the evening cruising the school’s parking lot waving and bidding farewell to their teachers and coaches.  An event organized by DC-G administration and in part, Activities/Athletics Director Brent Buttjer, and his assistant, Madison Melchert.

The event raised a lot of media coverage, and with a turnout of nearly 300 students for the event, DC-G officials have decided to host a second event tonight, but this time for students of the Meadows School.  The Meadows Schools is on the same campus of DC-G High School, but this wing of the building is dedicated to 8th-9th grade students.

Mustangs and Fillies Coaches left the event last Friday with full hearts, and a renewed sense of hope.  DC-G Boys’ Basketball Coach, Joel Rankin has been consistently Tweeting pictures and videos of his players and students in an effort to build camaraderie during the Covid-19 outbreak.  You can hear Rankin’s thoughts from this last Monday’s Dallas County PM Sports Page online at RaccoonValleyRadio.com.

For those attending the event, you may Tweet your photos to @DCGActivities, and additional information can be found on the DC-G Activities Twitter page.
