
Friday, May 8th
7:57am: A Traffic Stop at Lincoln Way and Westwood resulted in Cody Turner of Scott City being cited for, “Dark Windows.”
1:27pm: Veronica Ellsbury spoke with an officer concerning a Civil Issue.
4:54pm: An officer responded to an Alarm Activation at 401 East Central Ave. The officer located employees at the business and all was fine.
8:04pm: A Traffic Stop at 220 th and M Ave. resulted in Zachary Tiernan of Cedar Rapids being cited for, “Excessive Speed.”
8:32pm: Jill Johnson reported a Stray Dog at 402 South Wilson Ave. The officer placed the animal in the Animal Holding Facility.
8:50pm: An officer checked on a motorist having engine troubles in the 1600 Block of North Mulberry Street. The motorist removed the vehicle from the roadway.
11:26pm: A Traffic Stop at 220th and Oakland resulted in the arrest of Pablo Luis Correa Flores, 29 of Carroll for, “Driving While Barred-Aggravated and Excessive Speed.”
Saturday, May 9th
10:57am: Jon Forkner spoke to an officer about a Civil Issue occurring at 206 North Oak Street.
1:09pm: A caller advised of a Careless Driver on 220th Street, heading east on 220th Street. The officer located the reported vehicle at the GCMC ER in the 1000 Block of West Lincoln Way Street and spoke to the driver about the complaint.
3:06pm: A Traffic Stop in the 200 Block of South Elm Street resulted in Danielle Dalton of Jamaica being cited for, “Driving While Suspended.”
4:42pm: A Traffic Stop on 237th Street, near Kirkland resulted in the arrest of Nickalos Andrew Brown, 24 of Jefferson being arrested for, “OWI 2nd Offense – Aggravated and Excessive Speed.” Suspected marijuana was located after the officers noticed the pungent smell of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. A small amount of suspected marijuana was seized for testing. Future charges are pending.
5:19pm: A Public Works employee advised there was a powerline on a tree near Pinet and Lincoln Way Streets. The worker stood by while Alliant Energy responded to fix the issue.
5:32mpm: Brittany Smith requested officers at 304 North Chestnut Street for an assault. Officers arrived and spoke to Smith and two other witnesses. They learned a male had entered the residence and assaulted Smith and a male before taking property and leaving. The officer is investigating the event.
8:12pm: Lois Brandt reported a Stray Dog running loose in the 800 Block of West South Street. The officer did not locate the animal.
9:11pm: Landus Coop requested assistance at 1500 North Mulberry Street after Movie Night was over. The officers provided Traffic Control in the area and gave a female juvenile a ride to her residence, as she had walked to the event.
Sunday, May 10th
3:43am: Jessica Fester reported a dumpster in the roadway in the 200 Block of South Elm Street. The officer removed the dumpster from the roadway.
5:16am: An officer assisted the GC Ambulance and the Jefferson Fire Department at 910 West Adams Street with a Carbon Monoxide Alarm going off. Jefferson Fire tested the air quality inside the residence and determined no Carbon Monoxide was present.
9:16am: Barb Kruger reported the Theft of a hanging plant basket from her porch at 304 East Park Street. She later called and advised she had located the plant and assumed the wind had blown it off of the hook. No Theft had occurred.
9:36am: Brandon Mitchell reported the Theft of Prescription Medications from 607 West Monroe Street. The officer is investigating.
1:12pm: A Traffic Stop in the 300 Block of West Madison Street resulted in Hunter Swanson-Arthur of Ogden being cited for, “Dark Windows.”
1:36pm: A Traffic Stop at 220th and Elm Streets resulted in the arrest of Teresa Ann Turner, 40 of Bayard for, “OWI 1st Offense – Serious, Possession of Controlled Substance/Meth – Serious, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Simple, Fail to Provide Proof of Financial Liability – Simple, and Fail to Obey Stop Sign – Simple.”
2:11pm: Chris Murphy reported someone had moved his trampoline in his yard at 507 West Madison Street.
2:33pm: Kyle Hack reported a Careless Driver in the 400 Block of East Park Street. The officer later located the vehicle and spoke to the driver about the complaint.
