Even as social distancing restrictions are lifted around the state, they are being tightened in locations such as hospitals, which remain at high risk for COVID-19 spread.
The administrators at Dallas County Hospital and Family Medicine Clinics in Perry emphasize that they continue following guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for the protection of staff, patients, and families during the health emergency. Some of their ongoing precautions include: requiring everyone to wear at minimum a cloth face covering when inside the facility; screening every individual for symptoms upon their entrance to the hospital; limiting clinic hours for wellness visits; spacing patients in the waiting room; separating potentially infectious patients and well patients into different parts of the building; and implementing telehealth appointments more frequently.
Additionally, the hospital is still accepting and encouraging donations of personal protective equipment (PPE), such as N95 respirators and surgical masks, hand-sewn masks, face shields, and goggles. Anyone willing to donate these items can contact DCH Marketing and Foundation Manager Macinzie McFarland at 515-465-7516.
