Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds made some comments this last week on the status of the 2020 summer baseball and softball season.
Answering a question this last week on the status of a baseball/softball season, Reynolds said that “That’s something that we’re looking at. Hopefully will be able to announce that in the next week or two. Right now things are looking very well and hopefully by next week will have some insight on what that looks like.”
Baseball and softball seasons were originally slated to start on May 4th for the first practice and first contents to get going in late May. If there is to be a season, it is expected to be abbreviated and there will be a wide variety of topics to discuss include how many fans in stands, and other topics. Many coaches and student athletes remain optimistic that their will be a season, and the governor is hoping to shine more light on the topic in the next week or two.
