The unofficial Greene County results are in for the June Primary Election.

While there were no locally contested races for County Auditor, Sheriff, and three Supervisor seats, Iowa Senate District 24 and U.S. Representative seats were contested. There were five Republicans running for the Fourth Congressional District seat and Greene County voters chose Steve King with 43-percent of the votes. The other candidates included: Randy Feenstra with 30-percent, Bret Richards with 15-percent, Jeremy Taylor with five-percent and Steve Reeder with four-percent. Democrat J.D. Scholten was uncontested and received 626 Greene County votes.

As for Iowa Senate District 24, four Republicans and two Democrats were running. The unofficial winner from Greene County for the Republicans was Jesse Green with 234 votes to Chad Behn with 212 votes, Todd Rasmussen with 207 votes and Josh Dyer with 131 votes. . The Democrat winner from Greene County was Cynthia Paschen with 380 votes to Keith Puntenney with 179 votes. According to the Secretary of State’s website, District 24 results had Green as the unofficial Republican nominee and Paschen as the Democratic nominee.
