A Greene County non-profit organization will soon open its online bidding as it prepares for a new twist to the annual fundraiser event.
Bringing Optimism and Opportunities to Students and Parents (BOOST) of Greene County will host a virtual fundraiser this year, due to COVID-19 concerns. The organization supplements funds for the Greene County School District teachers to use throughout the year for different educational opportunities. The steering committee says all 95 auction items will be open for bid starting Monday, June 22nd. The items range from food items, to handmade, spa packages and several student works of art. Many of the auction items are on display now, at Jefferson Realty, The Rhythm Room and the Masonic Lodge.
The virtual event will take place at 7pm on Saturday, June 27th on their Facebook page. The first five auction items are freshly baked pies, which the bidding window will close at 7:10pm. Other items will close in waves, with the entire event wrapping up at 8pm. There will also be prepared videos from BOOST to promote and entertain during the event.
BOOST is continuing to offer refunds to those who had purchased a ticket for the in-person event that was cancelled. To request a refund, email them at gcschoolsboost@gmail.com or call 515-370-3325.
