The Guthrie Center Aquatic Center is making an adjustment to their operation procedures since they opened to the general public Monday.
As the pool staff is performing temperature checks on all attendees entering the pool, they have now decided that if that person’s temperature reads 100.4 degrees fahrenheit or higher they will ask that person to rest in a shaded area for 10 minutes and will then have their temperature retaken. If the person passes the second reading and the series of four COVID-19 related questions, they will be allowed to enter. The pool is open for lap swimming from 6-7 a.m. and open swimming from 12:30-3:45 p.m. and 5-8:30 p.m. The first half hour for each of the open swim sessions will restrict swimming to the shallow end while staff hold COVID-19 screenings. The aquatic center will continue to work with Guthrie County Public Health to use the latest COVID-19 research data to update their guidelines as needed through the season. The staff thanks the community for their continued support.
