The Panora Chamber of Commerce is striving to help support its member businesses and community recuperate from economic losses due to the COVID-19 crisis with the hiring of a new staff person.
Panorama Class of 2017 alum Christin Koch was recently hired as the Chamber’s summer marketing coordinator. Koch is entering her senior year at Iowa State University as a public relations major with a minor in event management. When she saw the Chamber’s job posting for a part-time employee, Koch thought it would be the perfect opportunity to use her education and give back to her community.
Koch shares what her mission is for the Chamber this summer, “I would say my goals are majorly just to continue to drive business and really be able to encourage the community to support the local businesses and kind of just reassure them that it is safe to shop and it’s a great way to give back to their community through shopping at local businesses. And I think just being able to make our community members feel comfortable going out and shopping and just really being able to cultivate a community aspect especially in such a trying time, being able to bring everyone together and really just support these businesses and lift them up.”
Chamber member Julie Wyckoff adds that they are also looking for Koch to help them showcase Panora to those outside of the community.
