Peoples Bank in Guthrie Center recently wrapped up their canned food drive for the New Opportunities Guthrie County Family Development Center.

The bank matched each item donated to the service organization’s food pantry located in Guthrie Center City Hall. Over a thousand cans of vegetables and soup were donated, along with an additional hundred non-food items. Peoples Bank thanks Guthrie Center Hometown Foods and Dollar General for their assistance in the drive, and all those who donated. Guthrie County New Opportunities Coordinator Rhonda Huggins also thanks the community for their support, and reminds residents that her office can assist families to qualify for the Low-Income Heating Assistance Program through June 30th and additional utility crisis funding.
