Wednesday, June 24th

3:02am: Elizabeth Martinez spoke with an officer about a request for a welfare check on a family member.

11:36am: Staff at Fareway (1207 North Elm Street) reported an employee stealing $45 worth of vaping cartridges. An officer is investigating.

1:53pm: Officers responded to the intersection of West Madison Street and South Walnut Street for a two-vehicle traffic accident. Angel Lowmiller was traveling westbound on West Madison Street in a GMC Acadia. Matthew Spaulding was traveling northbound on South Walnut Street in a Ford Focus. Both vehicles met at the uncontrolled intersection and the Acadia struck the Focus on the passenger side. The Acadia sustained $5,000 in damages and the Focus was totaled. Matthew Spaulding of Perry was issued citations for Fail to Yield to Vehicle on Right and Driving While Suspended.

8:15pm: Jennifer Ashby had reported a possible assault at 108 East Central Street Lot 66. An officer is investigating.

9:35pm: An anonymous female reported fireworks going off in the 300 block of East State Street.

10:40pm: An officer responded to 607 West State Street for a barking dog complaint.

11:19pm: An officer located an open business door at 600 East Lincoln Way.

11:33pm: An officer located an open business door at 509 East Gallup Road.

Thursday, June 25th

12:16am: Tony Ratliff reported suspicious activity in front of his residence at 504 South Oak Street.

6:10am: Officers responded to 607 West Harrison Street for a racoon that attacked a dog.

2:25pm: Dave Morlan reported receiving a phone scam.

4:36pm: The Ames Police Department requested assistance with a Sexual Assault. investigation. An officer was assigned to follow up with the investigation.

5:47pm: Kitten Day spoke with an officer about a welfare check on a family member.

9:55pm: As a result of a traffic stop in the 500 block of West Head Street, Robert Mobley (36) of Jefferson was arrested for Operating a Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated – 1st Offense – Serious Misdemeanor. Robert was also charged with Excessive Speed (50 MPH in 35 MPH Zone), Open Container and Failure to Prove Security Against Liability.

10:58pm: An officer responded to the Greene County Medical Center Emergency Room (1000 West Lincoln Way) for a report of a dog bite.
