UPDATE: Both the Panorama vs Southeast Valley and AC/GC vs Woodward Granger baseball games have been postponed until tomorrow. Start times will remain the same with Panorama-Southeast Valley playing first with AC/GC-Woodward Granger to follow.
Baseball teams from Panorama and AC/GC will be in action in Granger later today.
The Panthers will play first as they’ll be the neutral site host to Southeast Valley. Panorama concluded their abbreviated season with a 10-3 record, with those three losses coming from two top-five teams in Van Meter and Woodward Granger. Southeast Valley comes in with a 5-6 record, earning their way to Granger with a win against South Central Calhoun Saturday evening. The Panthers bring in one of the most potent offensive attacks in the state. They have five batters hitting over .400 and are top five in Class 2A in six statistical categories including #1 in slugging percentage and fewest strikeouts. The winner of this game will play the winner of AC/GC vs Woodward Granger with a spot to substate on the line.
The Chargers will take the field in the second game to square off against a familiar foe in fifth-ranked Woodward Granger. The Hawks are the only team AC/GC has gotten a second look at. The Chargers were up 2-0 entering the final inning before Woodward Granger scored three to win in walk off fashion. The two teams played blow for blow again last week before the Hawks pulled away late to win 8-3. The winner of this game will play the winner of Panorama vs Southeast Valley with a spot to substate on the line.
