The West Central Valley Wildcats 2020 softball season is officially in the books, as the Tigers lost in the class 2A – Region 2 First Round game against the Tigers of Madrid in a high scoring affair 17-11. The 11 run output was one of the highest of the season for the Wildcats, but unfortunately Madrid’s highest run output of the season couldn’t have come at a worse time.

Madrid jumped out to an early 7-0 lead after two, the Wildcats came back with three runs in the next couple of frames, but couldn’t keep the home team off the scoreboard throughout the night.

The Wildcats had fifteen hits with the eleven runs, and had a big final game from senior Ellie Smith, who had three hits and two funs scored, as well as eighth grader Ella Sand, also had three hits in the game as well.

The Wildcats will say goodbye to their two seniors in Smith and Jenna Merical, both providing great experience and leadership to the team this year. The Wildcats will have a lot of talent returning to next year’s team, as their final record is 1-14-1.
