Greene County ISU Extension has announced a new activity for youth to enjoy near the end of this month.
The Adventure Camp is for any child going into 4th-6th grade this fall and it will be held at Clover Hall on the Greene County Fairgrounds on Wednesday, July 29th. Extension Director Lori Mannel says participants will use their detective skills to solve puzzles and decipher codes, with the ultimate goal of building their own birdhouse. She explains why they wanted to develop this new youth activity.
“For kids who are getting a little antsy, they don’t have their normal routines going on and maybe they’re limited in getting out of the house and going on a vacation. We’re excited to see how this rolls out. If you’re interested we really encourage you to give us a call sooner rather than later.”
There will be two sessions from 9am-noon and 1-4pm, with limited class sizes for both sessions. Cost to participate is $20 per child and the deadline to register is July 28th. Call 515-386-2138 or stop by the Extension Office in Jefferson to sign up.
