One man was injured when his dump truck rolled off the road in Adel Monday.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, just after 12:30 p.m. a dump truck driven by 31-year-old Joshua Killen of Des Moines was northbound on Highway 169 near Southbridge Drive when he swerved off the right side of the road to avoid another vehicle and drove into a ditch. The vehicle rolled and Killen was trapped. First responders were able to rescue him with non-mechanical means. Killen was then taken by ground ambulance to Mercy West Hospital in West Des Moines with minor injuries.

The Iowa State Patrol was aided at the scene by the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office and Dallas County EMS. Raccoon Valley Radio will continue to provide information as it becomes official.
