The Adel Aquatic Center is preparing to reopen after an unexpected closure.

According to Adel Parks and Recreation Supervisor Sadie Mudder, the staff found glass at the bottom of the pool on July 22nd. This prompted an immediate closure of the pool to drain, inspect, clean, and refill the pool to ensure safe and sanitary conditions. 

After going through the proper procedures, the pool is ready to reopen. Starting Wednesday the pool will be open and offering it’s full slate of classes and activities for the remainder of the season. Staff members want to emphasize that glass items are prohibited.
