The Guthrie County Historical Village and Museum in Panora has eased some of its restrictions that were put in place this past June in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Conservation Director Brad Halterman says visitors are no longer limited to viewing most of the village’s buildings from the doorway, “We now have areas in the majority of our buildings where visitors can actually enter the building and view things from inside the building. The main building and the implement building remain closed but all of the other buildings, we actually now have them open for folks to be able to go in. We have the areas roped off and we’re still asking folks with signage for one family or one small group at a time to go in.”
Masks are strongly encouraged by Conservation staff, and since the village is not operating at its full capacity a freewill donation is accepted instead of an admission fee. The village is open from 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 1-4:30 p.m. Saturday.
