Despite the cancellation of the Bell Tower Block Party on August 29th, one event is still scheduled to happen.

The Jefferson Parks and Recreation Department will be holding its annual 5 or 10K, and one mile walk/run. The route will be entirely on hard surfaces throughout Jefferson. Cash prize awards will be given to the top male and female of each age division, depending on the number of participants. Entry fee is $30 per person. Race participants are not guaranteed a t-shirt.

Additionally, those with dogs can participate, with their entry fees of $40 to be a direct donation to the Greene County Animal Shelter project. Race participants will receive a scarf and treats for their furry friend.

The event will take place Saturday, August 29th with check-ins from 7-7:45am at the Greene County Community Center. The one mile race will begin at 8am and the 5 and 10K race will be at 8:20am from the community center. Pre-registration deadline is today.
