The Violet Hill Cemetery in Perry is closed to the public while City crews continue to clean up following the recent derecho storm.

The storm left several trees within the cemetery needing to be removed. With upcoming services, those areas have been prioritized first in cleanup efforts. Several monuments and headstones were damaged in the storm. The City recommends those affected to contact their insurance agents as the damage may be covered under most policies.
