In an effort to combat rising COVID-19 cases, Governor Kim Reynolds signed a new emergency public health proclamation, implementing restrictions for several counties in the State, including Dallas County.

Governor Reynolds announced the restrictions during a press conference Thursday morning that starting Thursday at 5 p.m., all bars, breweries, taverns, and nightclubs in Dallas County will have to close. Restaurants can stay open, but can’t sell alcohol after 10 p.m. Additionally, law enforcement will be enforcing restrictions on social gatherings of more than 10 people to ensure they’re maintaining social distance. The new proclamation goes until September 20th. According to the State Dashboard as of Thursday morning, Dallas County had 2,193 positive cases, which is sixth-highest in the State. The proclamation also includes Blackhawk, Johnson, Linn, Polk and Story counties.
