A newly formed economic grant will help area businesses prepare for the future.
The Perry Chamber of Commerce, Economic Development, and the City of Perry are developing a new modernization and protection grant amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Perry Chamber Director Lynsi Pasutti tells Raccoon Valley Radio the motivation for this stems from many economic programs focusing on recovering losses from the recent closures.
Pasutti says they wanted to help businesses rebuild and prepare for the future, “What we really wanted to do is, not knowing if there will be more closures in the future, how long this is going to go, we really wanted to help businesses get a leg up on moving forward. That’s really what our program is focused on; it is modernization. Whatever that means for that business, it could be making sure they have a good web presence, and people can find information, or they could actually do e-commerce. It could be some kind of system within their company that’s more automated, so it helps them be more efficient to take them to the next level.”
Pasutti adds they’ll be shifting efforts towards fundraising here soon, and there will be more exciting announcements in the near future.
