A Guthrie Center man was recently convicted for a felony incident that occurred on April 2nd.

Court documents show that 33-year-old Travis Jeffrey Barker pleaded guilty to domestic abuse assault – strangulation with bodily injury, a class D felony, and was given a suspended five year prison sentence. Barker is ordered to serve three years probation, and he must submit to substance abuse and mental health evaluation. He must also remain at Safe Harbor crisis center in Woodward until maximum benefits of treatment have been received, and be placed on an alcohol monitoring program. Barker is also ordered to abide by a no contact order issued, participate in a domestic abuse program at his expense, and pay about $1,000 for a fine and surcharges, in addition to restitution.
