This is week three of the Iowa high school football season. It’s also the opening night of Class 2A District 9 play for Greene County and the Rams host the Atlantic Trojans. Tonight is also Senior Night for the Rams at Linduska Field.
Greene County head coach Caden Duncan talked about Senior Night. “It’s always a special experience for the coaches, the players, obviously, and their families, to know this is a night when we get to celebrate those seniors, and their families, and recognize all the sacrifices they’ve made.”
Senior Night is typically later in the season, but Coach Duncan said, “We moved it up this year because we know that nothing’s guaranteed. We wanted to make sure we honored those kids and their commitment. It’s a night where before the game we’ll take a moment to thank our seniors for all they’ve given to Ram football.”
Football and cheerleader seniors will be introduced at 6:40 p.m. with senior members of the band introduced at halftime.
The Rams and Trojans both went 1-1 in non-district play. Game time is 7 p.m. with football coverage starting at 6 p.m. on KG98 and streaming on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com.
