The battle of highway 169 amongst district foes and rivals went to Winterset Friday night as the Huskies defeated the ADM Tigers 26-13. Both teams were able to move the ball up and down the field throughout the contest but the scoring was disrupted by turnovers by both teams in the first quarter and throughout the game for the Tigers as they finished with 5 turnovers on the night. ADM was inside the Husky 20 yardline twice in the first quarter but came up empty both times after turning the ball over. Winterset got on the board first in the second quarter and led 13-6 at the half.
Winterset’s Dawson Forgy was undoubtedly the star of the night, he led the way on the ground for Winterset going over 100 yards and always seemed to pick up a big gain when needed. Meanwhile Chirstian Barker had a big receiving night twice coming away with big gains to set up the Huskies at the 1 for eventual rushing touchdowns. Winterset improves to 3-1 on the season while ADM drops to 1-3 and will find out if they have a game next Friday night, as for their scheduled opponent Hoover and the other Des Moines public schools are still being kept off the field.
