The weekly racial injustice protests occurred Tuesday at the Greene County Courthouse in Jefferson.

Ten people gathered to march around the courthouse for Black Lives Matter and those in Greene County who don’t have a voice. Prior to marching, co-organizer Dale Hanaman presented handouts to attendees about the “Four D’s of Bystander Intervention” and the “Dos and Dont’s of Bystander Intervention,” as published by the American Friends of Service Committee.

Hanaman discussed an article called “Black Girls Teach” about a teacher that reflected on racism against her when she was in 7th grade, her teacher threw a stapler at her after several incidents where the teacher didn’t want her presence in the same classroom. Hanaman then brought the article back to why they marched for racial inequality.
