Tomorrow night is the last scheduled home game for the Greene County football team. Coach Caden Duncan’s Rams host Clarinda in a Class 2A District 9 contest at Linduska Field in Jefferson. The regular season sends Oct. 9 in Shenandoah for the Rams, and since all teams qualify for the playoffs this year, it’s unknown at this time whether Greene County’s first round playoff game on Oct. 16 will be at home or away.

Clarinda is 2-3 overall and 2-1 in the district while the Rams are 3-2 and 1-1. Both are coming off comfortable wins last week. The Cardinals topped Shenandoah 45-10 and rolled up over 400 yards of offense. The Rams won at Red Oak and was just short of 400 yards of offense. Red Oak is the other team Clarinda has a win against.

The Rams have had three early turnovers each of the past two weeks and still won against Nodaway Valley (22-19) and RO (55-14). Coach Duncan told Raccoon Valley Radio the emphasis this week is getting off to a better start. The Rams trailed NV 12-0 and 19-7, and were behind RO 14-0.

Friday’s game can be heard on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com. Game time is 7 p.m. with coverage starting at 6 p.m.
