The West Central Valley Wildcats volleyball team competed in the first round of district play on Monday night against Tri-Center, and saw their season come to a close falling three sets to one 16-25, 25-23, 17-25, and 14-25.
The Wildcats were able to get a nice victory in set number two as their defense really started to pick up against the Tri-Center attack, but unfortunately they couldn’t get enough hits on the offensive end throughout along with not enough stops defensively to get the victory.
The Wildcats will see their season come to a close with a 13-13 record on the season while Tri-Center will continue to move with their 15-14 record.
For the Wildcats, this is the first time that a team from the program hasn’t had a losing season since 2014, when that team went 10-10.
For the Wildcats, they will be losing five seniors, but will be returning a lot of key players next year, as they look to continue to ascend under the direction of coach Kaleb Brown.
