Despite the unpredictable climate that the COVID-19 pandemic has caused for local events and gatherings, the Perry Chamber of Commerce is pleased with the results of their first few fall events.
Perry Chamber of Commerce Director Lynsi Pasutti tells Raccoon Valley Radio that folks are taking social distancing guidelines seriously, “I think that people have been really respectful overall. I think that’s what it kind of boils down to sometimes, taking that into consideration that it’s not just protecting yourself, it’s protecting others so that we can have these activities. We’ve seen that with the farmers market, and we’ve seen that with the sip and shops. Most people are wearing masks, and they’re keeping their distance. We haven’t had any issues, so we just hope that that trend continues with other activities.”
Pasutti adds that because participants and merchants have been working hard to provide a safe environment during these events, turnout has been positive. Other events Perry residents can look forward to is the Spooktacular Trick-or-Treat walk in downtown Perry next Friday from 4-6 p.m., and the virtual Art on the Prairie Festival November 13th-30th.
