West Central Valley’s freshmen runner Taitlin Koch competed in the 2A girls race on Saturday morning in Fort Dodge, and was great in her first state race as she was able to finish in 78th place with a time of 22 minutes and 10 seconds on the day. In a day that was very windy on the course, she was able to salvage a very respectable time considering how difficult the course conditions were.
She was able to establish an identity early on in the race, running at a pace that she was comfortable with, and able to finish the race with a strong pace at the very end able to pass multiple runners throughout the process.
Koch has been special all season long in her first campaign at the varsity level, and was able to continue to get better all season long, which ultimately helped her to making it to the state race.
This is a Wildcat runner that has been very good all season long for this Wildcat program, and the future looks very bright for this talented freshmen runner.
