Greene County residents who use Medicare are encouraged to review their plans and make adjustments, and insurance professionals at Greene County Medical Center can help.

The Senior Health Insurance Information Program (SHIIP) has volunteers who can provide Medicare individuals with free, unbiased and confidential information. Open enrollment for Medicare Advantage and Medicare Part D plans are now open. During open enrollment, Medicare-eligible individuals can review their plans and learn about changes going into next year. Open enrollment runs through December 7th, and if you miss the deadline, you may have to wait a full year before making changes to your plan.

SHIIP volunteers are available by appointment at Greene County Medical Center on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. Call them at 515-386-2114 to schedule an appointment.
