The Perry Performing Arts Center will be filled with laughs Friday and Saturday as Perry High School is showing their fall production, “Check Please.”
The play written by Jonathan Rand includes various skits following several blind dates that go hilariously wrong. Amid the uncertainty that the COVID-19 pandemic has caused within high school activities, student Bryce Eastman says she’s happy to be able to participate in a fall production, “I’m really happy that we’re able to still have a show. I think it’s good because we’re either (going) from school straight to home, or to different activities. I feel like being able to do these productions, you get to different sides of people as well, like the quiet kid being a monkey. It really brings out the best in people from what I’ve experienced.”
Molly Moorhead encourages everyone to come out as it’s a show that anyone can appreciate, “Check Please is definitely a fun show to perform, but I think anyone will love it when they come. Whether it’s young people or senior citizens, I think it’s a show for everyone, that everyone can enjoy and relate to in their own unique ways.”
Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the high school office or at the door. Social distancing accommodations will be enforced to keep families six feet apart from others. Additional entrances and exits will also be open to maintain a better flow as people are coming and going.
