Six Perry homeowners are receiving Community Development Block Grants to improve the exterior of their homes.
The $254,000 worth of grants is from the CDBG Housing Sustainability Exterior Home Improvements Grant program that the City accepted in July. City Administrator Sven Peterson says this is an exciting opportunity for not just the homeowners, but the City as a whole, “We were really excited to be able to apply for this grant opportunity, and actually found out that we were awarded for earlier this year. It’s a great opportunity to help out folks and fix up their homes.”
Each recipient will receive up to $25,000 to improve the sustainability of the exterior of their homes. Peterson says these homes will repair or replace doors, windows, and insulation.
