Those looking to kick off the holiday shopping season, dine out, or support local businesses in general are reminded of an event happening in Guthrie County this weekend.

The Guthrie Center and Panora chambers of commerce are hosting the first annual Heart of Guthrie County Holiday Showcase which lasts through today and tomorrow. Several Chamber member businesses in the neighboring communities are offering special discounts, giveaways and other promotions, and patrons can pick up, fill out, and submit a postcard at any of the participating businesses for a chance to win a gift basket from one of the Chamber organizations.
