The Guthrie Center School Board approved the purchase of four speed bumps for the high school parking lot at their most recent meeting.

The rubber speed bumps cost $1,200 total and will be installed in June. The Board then discussed and tabled action on purchasing new bleachers for the softball and baseball fields, remarking that they may revisit the topic in a few months. They also tabled action on purchase of a new sound system until the December meeting. The Board also approved a modified supplemental amount request of $34,400 for open enrollment out and $3,102 for English Language Learner instruction beyond five years. They also approved a change to their school year calendar that May 27th and 28th be the first snow makeup days and move April 6th to the third possible makeup date. Superintendent Dennis McClain mentioned that if they would have a fourth snow day they would then use the remote virtual learning option to prevent the school year extending into June.
