Additional information has been released regarding an incident Monday afternoon where a child was fatally struck by a car.

According to the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office, just before 4 p.m. Monday 47-year-old Robert Nevitt of Perry was driving a GMC Denali in the parking lot at Woodward-Granger High School when seven-year-old Charlie Brewer of Bouton traveled in front of the car and was struck on the front of the passenger side of the vehicle. Brewer was pronounced dead at the scene. The preliminary investigation suggests that there was no intent by Nevitt to strike the child.
